It seems like the main tools
on this jobsite were a chainsaw and a sledge hammer. As the foundation
was setting, steel rods (starter bars) were pushed vertically in
the footings, to stabilise the first couple of rows of bales. Then
wire tires and more steel rods were pushed into the courses of bales
as they went up. The front angles proved a bit tricky, but with the
help of a chainsaw, not too difficult. Regular clear glass beer bottles
were used for the feature window. They are filled with water for
added thermal mass, and food colouring was used for the blue effect.
